I have a laptop with...
Intel Core i3 Dual core @ 2.5 GHz (I think; it is an older model)
Intel Integrated graphics.
4GB RAM
I have another computer so no worries, but this laptop used to play at 30-40 fps at far render distance on fast graphics. Now, it only gives me less than 16 fps at minimum graphics.
The laptop used to overheat, but I opened it up and cleaned out the fans and heatsink. Now that is not a problem. I got an FPS boost of 2, but I am really wanting it to get back up to 25 fps at least.
I have optifine, set at minimum on everything.
I am only playing smp on this machine, both on my local server and a friend's, if that makes any difference
Is a problem with the internal server and couple of bugs with the 1.3.X , if you used to play at decent FPS use the 1.2.5 there isn't much difference between them.
I know I have Integrated Graphics (and that it is bad-- I know enough about computers that I could build mine), but as I said, it's a laptop and my secondary computer, not my primary one, which has a separate graphics card. My MC on the laptop used to run smoothly (~40 fps) at far.
There is nothing wrong with the graphics. I opened it up to clean out the heatsink, which resulted in me taking the heatsink off of the CPU and another thingy on the motherboard (which I think was the GPU? I might be mistaken since I don't know much about integrated graphics). I did not apply new thermal paste, could this be a problem?
I don't know much about laptops, only about desktops.
If your sudden drop in performance is caused by you not properly re-installing the heat sink, then you need to take your laptop apart again and fix that. If the problem is because of the 1.3 update, then the optifine mod should negate any performance drops in the update.

So any suggestions, anyone?

Curse PremiumThe two links are not very useful for me as I already took all of those steps that were applicable.

Select the version that is appropriate for your system. Under the Older versions spoiler you will find a 1.2.5 version if you choose that.
