Since messing with my graphics drivers and java versions to get another game to run, I have been unable to run Minecraft at all, every startup attempt ends with an error 126 crash.
Running Radeon HD6770M with 12.8 drivers, Java 7 64&32.
Tried reinstalling the client, problem persists, not surprising.
Now here's the kicker: I tried copying ATIOGLXX.dll with command prompt, but every time it returns "File not found"
I haven't seen any fixes for this on any of my searches, so I'm guessing it's a new problem, or I've f*ed up my GPU drivers somehow.
you need to delete your video card drivers from the device manager, then update the drivers
delete your minecraft folder backup your world , you don't want to lose anything.
delete java 32 bits , if your computer is 64 bits theres no need to have the 32 bits too
Deleting the display adapters is a little different from removing the drivers... I can certainly do that if you think that will help, but I will completely nerf my card (effectively pull it out of the computer) if I delete the adapters. I've done this once in the past, and I'm thinking it might actually be what's causing the problem...
the Drivers are completely up to date though, I just removed&installed them a few days ago.
If you're sure this will help, I can try it.
Edit: clarifying, the adapters are what make the computer work with the card, the drivers are what you get when you download from AMD.com without adapters, you have no graphics. (unless you have integrated)
EDIT: also tried copying atio6axx.dll. No effect.
EDIT2: reinstalled the game client. No effect.
Reinstalling HP drivers for my computer...
EDIT3: factory drivers have no effect.
Out of ideas. Really don't want to remove my adapters, and I don't see how that will fix this...
first of all why did you want to copy manually the file? isn't the driver already with that file?
second deleting entirely the drivers will help install a fresh drivers without any problem
third why you where touching configs of your GPU drivers etc etc? if you didn't know what you where doing?
btw im not screaming at you or something this are just questions
cheers
Many people have had the same issue with Radeon/OpenGL fighting, because of an incorrect filename in AMD's graphics drivers. There are many cases where people have fixed this by effectively renaming the file by copying it from atioglxx.dll (the correct name) to .dll (the name AMD drivers look for). I have tried this, but it didnt work, because atioglxx.dll doesn't exist on my machine in the first place. I'm thinking this was becasue I originally did remove the adapters in the past to try to fix compatibility with Wurm Online. This may have removed the file.
Secondly, the _drivers_ (not the adapters) can be removed from "Add or Remove Programs" in Control Panel. I've tried removing my _drivers_ completely, and reinstalling with the latest version from AMD, AND the factory driver from HP.
Third, I have a good idea how to work my graphics on my rig, but Radeon is famous for poor application support, so I've had to try different drivers, etc. to get the card to play other OpenGL games.
At this point, I'm not sure what else I can do. As it stands, my machine will not touch ANY OpenGL programs without crashing miserably. If it wasn't a laptop, I'd already have replaced this stupid card.
I've exausted every possible option I have now, and I'm ready to try reinstalling the display _adapters_, if you're sure that might help...
I just don't want to do this if I don't have to, because even though I've done it before, there is still the risk that it wont reinstall properly for whatever reasons.
If you're sure this stands a chance of helping, I'll go ahead and try it.
yes that stand a chance of fixing it too , try it if it doesn't works just default the video card
i'm not an expert of amd but im doing my best to help you out with this problem
Hello, I'm having the same problem. I've tried every solution everyone else has suggested, but I'm still getting the error.
I tried doing the CMD > copying the DLL files, but that did not work.
I tried uninstalling/redownloading Minecraft, that did not work.
I tried uninstalling my graphics card drivers and reinstalling them. That did not work.
I'm out of ideas, and this is very frustrating because I really want to play Minecraft. I'm running on an Acer 7750G laptop. I'm using the Switchable Graphics Technology, with the Radeon 6650M video card. I wonder if the switchable graphics is the problem?
Any ideas?
EDIT: I found a solution! I simply uninstalled 64-bit Java and reinstalled 32-bit Java. Voila! Minecraft runs flawlessly now. Maybe this will help someone else.
Hello there,
I have a lenovo y470p that runs a 64 bit version of java. I have done all the steps above, yet I still get the loadlibrary error... I can run my mincraft with a 32 bit java, but when I do I only get around 20 FPS when I should sit at around 60.. Any help would be useful.
Thanks

I got it, finally!
I tried updating the display adaper for the card, and that appears to have fixed it. This is one of those uncommon times...
I stand corrected. Thank you for the advice.

Thanks! The same problem happened today at 6:30 AM at 06-13-15. I updated one of my intel HD graphics and it worked. Thank you very much!
