Heres my system specs-
if you cant read the specs, here it is below.

what version of os x do you have? keep in mind that support for 10.5.8 is being dropped all over the world, so if you aren't at least running 10.6.8 then you're asking for trouble.
looks like you need to remove all aspects of minecraft from the library/application support/minecraft folder (back your world up on the desktop). you should also update to java 6, latest release, and then re download minecraft, if it doesn't work look up "allocating more memory to minecraft mac" on google. there is a crap ton of help. but don't forget, what is your os?
Im using Mac OS X 10.4.11
I went to java to download java 6 but they said apple automaticly updates the software and they wouldnt give me a link.
I deleted everything from minecraft off my computer, but when i went to download the linux laucher or the mac launcher it wouldnt even let me download it, it said in the download box "cannot create file".
Well i used a flashdrive to get the linux launcher to my mac, and it opened fine and actually let me play. It only came with a .jar file, so do i need to get the minecraft.app back? or do i already have all the minecraft files because i didnt see any. I want the files so i can put optfine in it because i have a big lag.
Apple never released Java 6 for Tiger, but there's an early developer preview in the wild you could try.
The Minecraft.app is actually just a wrapper that sets some Java preferences for the Linux launcher minecraft.jar. The game's binaries live in ~/Library/Application Support/minecraft.
to be honest im kinda of lost, im new all of this..
so would i need minecraft.app so i can i add mods and optifine in it or am i all set with just the linux.jar launcher?

The second link in my post tells you just that. There's even a little script you can download, it will open the folder for you Screw that, script is Intel only.
so what does that mean? will it not work since its intel?
