Ever since the 1.3 update, I have been having some very strange crashes when logging in and out of servers. What happens is the game will load up normal, then after being in a server for a few minutes and then logging out, the game COMPLETELY FREEZES. Not even a crash screen, black screen, or white screen. I have to go into Windows Task Manager and end the application (the "x" button doesn't work). The worst part is that I CAN'T KILL THE PROCESS EITHER! Clicking "End Process" on java.exe in Task Manager doesn't work, nor does running cmd as administrator and using the "taskkill" command. After several occurrences of this, my whole 8Gb of RAM is filled and I have to restart my computer to clear the RAM. Is this a memory leak or something else?
I am using the latest version of Java. Computer specs: i5-2500k, 8Gb DDR3-1333 RAM, OCZ 60Gb SATA-III SSD, NVIDIA GTX-550 Ti graphics card, and Windows 7 Home Premium.
If anyone else has a solution or is having this problem too, let me know. This is so annoying.
unlike you i can end the process by going into the task manager however once my world is loaded i cant move at all and nothing responds. i have taken a copy of all my worlds and set them aside and completely removed minecraft from my computer i have the lasest java as well and now that i am trying to reinstall it, it is freezing at the login screen. i looked to see what reason is and it tells me apphang so idk what to do but i hope somebody can help me before i have block withdraws
