I've been playing minecraft religiously since beta 1.5 with close to no hardware issues; I've always run my settings on fancy graphics, the max fps setting, smooth lighting, clouds, and full particles, etc. I've never really had any hiccups until now; SSP is almost un playable as of 1.3.2. I don't have issues in creative mode, and I've been playing hunger games SMP servers with no problem either.
In single player survival, however, I can't play for more than 15 to 20 minutes before my FPS drops so badly that it is like watching, as I saw on one forum, "the ******* child of a slideshow and a movie" play out as I fall into lava, or get blown up.
So this is either a minecraft issue (I am wary to call foul on the client, as my computer is getting up there in age, but it does show signs of a memory leak!) or I need to finally starve my wife, dog, and kid, and get a new computer.
Anyone have any input, or similar issue with 1.3.2? Upgrading to last week's snapshot did the same thing, and optifine did not help at all, any version. I did some research and found this thread: http://www.sargunste....php?f=8&t=5189
People there seem to having the same problem.
my specs:
2.0ghz intel core 2 duo
2gb ddr3 ram
nvidia geforce 9400 video card.
TL;DR
1.3.2 has serious lag spike issues in SSP that i never had before, have you noticed?
It's just a problem with the newest version on some computers. You could always try to mess around with the settings a bit, see if changing smooth lightning off, changing fancy into fast or changing openGL off does anything.
Eh, I tried all of that to no avail, at best turning smooth lighting off just kept the lag spikes at bay for an extra 10 minutes.
so i have settled that it may be my computer getting too hot, which is fine, i've had this problem before. some questions, however, are left unanswered: why 1.3.2? why not on SMP? why not on creative?

The problem is, I started a new world with 1.3.2, and if I downgrade then I am liable to corrupt my world, and I luff it.
I think this may be the problem. I have some external cooling **** for my processor, but I think it isn't working.
