I recently remembered about a Minecraft account I had, therefore I went ahead and downloaded Minecraft.exe and logged in. I was pretty excited about logging in for the first time in a few months.
When I logged in for Single player, I saw that my computer's CPU was being taken up almost entirely by Minecraft. Screenshots below.
When I saw that, I started reading posts on here stating that maybe I should run cCleaner or kill processes not being used.
I ran cCleaner, and it removed 3,000 - 3,300 MB worth of junk. Pretty good.
I attempted to re-login to Minecraft, Single Player, and to my amazement, the speed wasn't all so great still. It was better, but not good to have smooth playing.
The following are two screenshots. One from the CPU usage and another from Minecraft's client itself.
Do you have any suggestions on what I could do to improve my Minecraft experience?
What are you CPU and GPU? How much RAM do you have? Have you tried installing Optifine, it might help with the FPS? What render distance are you trying to run Minecraft on? Switching smooth lightning to off, advancedOpenGL to off and quality from fancy to fast may greatly speed up your MC.
do you even know what you post?
adv open gl helps minecraft to run faster.
the other options are correct

Oh wow! Even this surprised me.
Changing the graphics to "Fast" instead of "Fancy", like you suggested, fixed it 100%! It's running so smoothly that it makes me wonder why Minecraft doesn't make Fast the default value!

If you have no luck there, then you could probably try to allocate more memory to Java.
