I was just playing my latest SSP building up a rather awesome base when suddenly I ran into a very nasty crash error. Now everytime I try to log into that world, it loads succesfully but crashes after about 2 seconds. This bug only occurs in this specific world. All other worlds are still working just fine. Last thing I did was cut down a giant jungle tree, kill a creeper and was heading back inside the base when this started occuring.

I spent like 50-60 hours on that world so far. I'd rather not just let it all go to waste. If there is a way to work around this bug I'd like to know. Did anyone else encountered something similar? Prior to the sudden crash, I did not noticed any drops in performance. Is there a way to salvage the world? I have no mods installed aside from a skin and a 16 x 16 texture pack
Nope. No LAN. Also I made a new test and logged into my world and hit escape to open the options menu and freeze the world. I was able to remain as long as I want in the menus toying with options and stuff, then I resume the game and the map crashes 2 seconds later. Does the game loads chunks when paused? If not then could it have something to do with a corrupted chunk(s) loading in and screwing everything up?

As soon as you get in, try to fly away towards pre-loaded junks. Thats all I can think of, sorry D:
I've sent the world to someone who might be able to fix it. No matter if he succeeds or not, I guess I just learned a valuable lesson. I need to start doing backups of my worlds.
