Windows XP error

Okay... I'm totally new to this site... please don't hold that against me. Lol.

Anyways, here's our problem:

I got minecraft, loved it, got my lil bro minecraft... he can't play it...

He has Windows XP and everytime he tries to open Minecraft he gets an error message.

(Window heading) Java Virtual Machine Launcher

Error: Could not create the Java Virtual Machine/
Error: A fatal exception has occured. Program will exit.

I have tried a few fixes I found online, but no dice. If anyone has a working solution to this problem it would be GREATLY appreciated by the both of us. And I'm sorry if this has already been solved somewhere else in the forum, I'm no good at finding things in forums...

You might have more than one java version installed. I'd suggest you remove them all and download the newest version.

You know, I hadn't even thought about that... and knowing my lil brother... with so many toolbars on his IE it takes half the screen... I WOULDN'T BE SURPRISED!!! lol.

Thanks for the input I'll have to give that a go tomorrow.
