I'm having problenms with my skins that I download, they are saved fine its just that when I first upload them to minecraft.net they work and then when I log out of the game and come back I have the default skin. I can't seem to fix it. Can anyone help?
I have found that if I swap game saves (I am playing on Seed A and then save and exit and load Seed B or go into SMP), I sometimes have to re-upload my skin to make it show up if I have logged out of Minecraft altogether in between saves/game file changes. If I load Minecraft too quickly after closing out the game, I sometimes lose my skin that way, too.
If I swap between game sessions/saves without closing and reopening Minecraft OR if I give a few minutes between game session swaps, the skin loss issue seems to cut down by a lot. I have now fallen into a habit of uploading my skin during each new Seed/game file creation and new SMP world log-in and then applying the whole 'don't close out Minecraft between game swaps OR wait a few minutes between closing and reopening Minecraft' guideline.
It isn't a perfect workaround by any means, but it mostly works for me while Mojang works on the issue like gerbil said.
