Hello, I have been having trouble moving my own personal maps across pc's, to the point where i have just given up. I know I can look up how to do it, and I have, but there seems to be 1000 different opinions on how to do it, and it's rather confusing. I've tried email, share sites and other options but still cant manage to do it. My main problem seems to be that its always a Zipfile problem and i have to purchase some stupid thing to download it. i've tried the free ones, but they never work.
Since all maps are now run on servers, with internet, would it be possible to be able to share maps over my account? Or maybe even the map seed? I know there is no current way, but maybe as an update this could be implemented. I have a premium account and just really want access to my maps that i have made on my brothers pc, and i cant drive over there because he is half way across the country. I know there is probably an easy solution, but its just a request.
I didn't know where to post this topic, sorry. Any help would be appreciated.

Oh, I thought you meant moving a map to a new computer YOU just got, try uploading the file to medifire or a file sharing site and then he can just download it, it should work then. You should try extracting the files into a new folder. See if that works.
To find and share the seed for the map, use the /seed command (1.3) or F3 (1.2.5). That will let you regenerate the pristine world on the other computer. Otherwise read on.
Assuming you are running MS/Windows then 7-zip is a top-notch program for you.
To help you better people need to know more details, such as what you tried and what errors you had. Or in more general terms, what you expected and what you got instead.
But this really isn't a topic for the seeds forum. Probably the support forum is best.
