Hi I was experimenting with mods and when I logged onto Minecraft it went black and I couldn't do anything, so I think I messed it up sooo I deleted .minecraft under applications and tried to download the game again. the download starts then freezes. I tried multiple times. I can't get my game to work or reload. what is the correct way to remove minecraft from your computer and how do I reload the game?

force the update. It gives you a fresh .bin however uninstalles mods and mcpatcher effects. still you have a fresh jar so try it. Worlds will not be deleted by doing this. Also do make backups. Also, for the future, make sure you install mods for the game version.
