alright, i had this amazing world on minecraft. I bought windows 7 and was previously running XP, the old minecraft things didn't transfer to the new one. is there a way i can get them back through the windows.old file that was placed when the conversion to w7 was made? if anyone has any info please post, i really want my world back D:
If you go into Windows.old, with hidden files and folders shown, search inside that folder using the search on the top of the window and type in %appdata% . Then go to Roaming and go to .minecraft
I tried this but the file doesnt seem to exist, even with the hidden files shown i cannot find it anywhere.

Moderatorthe folder was
C:\Documents and Settings\{user}\Application Data
if its not been backed up then your minecraft saves etc are lost
