You need to use McNostalgia to run a pre-Anvil version of minecraft on that world.
That older version of MC will update your save to McRegion format.
After that newer versions of MC can update that to Anvil.
Which version of Minecraft would you recommend for this? I've got the same problem, and am not sure which version of Minecraft I need for the initial convert to McRegion. Thanks!
I hope the tutorial for this isnt a sticky somewhere i havent seen, because i have really tried to find information about this.
I havent played minecraft since some time in 2011, when i now try to import my old save files the "new" minecraft wont even see they are there.
in 2011 a save file was a folder with shitloads of sub folders containing .dat files.
Does anyone know how i can convert my old world?? i really spent a lot of time on it and i really miss my town and my flying boat.
