Can any one tell me why JAVA keeps clearing the parameters I set, causing m to have to re-enter them time and time again?
Open Java (Control Panel)
Click on the JAVA tab
Click the VIEW button
Put - -Xincgc -Xmx4096M Into the RUNTIME PARAMETERS.
Click OK
Click APPLY
Click OK
This is suppose to be a one time set setting but I have noticed that I have to keep inputting the parameters every couple of days. (I use Java 7 since I am a 64b OS)
Can any one tell me why it keeps resetting? (Yes I have the latest version too.)
But why put such extreme settings in the control panel anyway?
Remember that it doesn't effect minecraft only, but also other programs such as java that runs within your web browser.
Also the memory setting can be counterproductive as well, because it means that there is less memory on the system for other programs.
Also minecraft doesn't use that much anyways.
Thank you for your comment. No worries when it comes memory, the system has more than enough memory to run on. 16 gigs. Also a lot of 64x players use a minimum of 4 gigs to run Mc in. Some even run with more. With the 4 gigs I seldom if ever run into the out of memory - chunk error issue.
