When i try and log in it says that it can't connect to minecraft.net. I also tied logging on using tekkit and it said the same thing. I don't know what is going on so can anybody help me?
I added in the Technic Launcher because that was something someone suggested. I have a 64 bit version of Windows 7 Ultimate. I have uninstalled and re installed java (both 32 and 64 bit versions, as tests) and my Video drivers, I have deleted the .minecraft folder and re installed multiple times, and I have also searched around on many a forum for the solution to my problem. I have had this problem for about a month now. I can't see the login server going down every single time I try to open Minecraft, but being open when my friends connect to our server.
I am able to play in browser, but with the click/keypress glitch, I die whenever I attack a creeper. I also get the click-pause glitch when holding the mouse button down for about 2 seconds. It is playable just for the sake of keeping in touch with friends, but extremely difficult when we attempt pvp servers.

see i can log into the browser but when i go to download the game it is saying i cant connect to minecraft.net even tho im logged into the browser can anyone help?
I sometimes have the same problem - for me it's because my system time is way off. Usually my system time restarts to the year 2001, if my computer has been off for sometime. So check your clock! If it's way off then set the clock to as close as possible to real time, and then click "Internet Time" and then "Update now". Happens to me all the time - I have an old computer so the motherboard battery doesn't keep the internal time.
Hope this helps!

Okay look sheep, ever since Notch released colored wool I have killed your friends, even tho I don't have to kill a sheep to get it's wool but a naked sheep just looks ugly.........but we be friends again?
I'm having the same issue. The client looks perfectly normal, but for some reason I can't log in to the client but can through the browser. Had the same issue last week and it mysteriously worked again after a few days.
Then it could be a hosts file issue. Follow the directions below:
1. Press the “Windows” key and “E” at the same time.
2. Open the following folders in the order given:
C:, Windows, System32, drivers, etc.
3. Before we edit the hosts file, we must make sure that you have the ability to edit it. Right click on the file named hosts and click property. If the option read-only is ticked, then you will need to untick it and click apply.
4. Exit out of the properties window for the hosts file.
5. Open the hosts file using notepad, or a program similar to it.
6. Delete any lines with minecraft.net in it, or ones that are similar to the ones below:

Retired Staffare you able to play in browser?
This is what I get.

Has anyone solved this problem yet?
