I just got a new (well previously used by my brother) computer that is better then my current computer only by a bit. The problem with my newer computer is that every time I try to play a server or single player I either crash because Minecraft (and tekkit and everything else included in the technic pack) has run out of RAM or I lag like crazy and rage quit. This doesn't happen with my older computer but I am not sure why. I will leave my tech specs and computer model numbers so if anybody has a solution please tell me.
Newer Computer (laggy) : Toshiba Protege M700
Processor: Intel core duo
Ram: 4gb PC-2 5300 DDR2
Graphics Card (Could be the issue but my brother used to run Minecraft just fine on like 75fps): Mobile Intel 965 Express Chip Family
OS: Windows 7 Enterprise 32bit
So ya I will edit this if I find a fix and thank you to everyone that responds (If anyone does respond)
If you need any more info just ask.
The mac was a better computer all around, less ram, but better GPU. But also remember, they merged Singleplayer with Multiplayer, making the game unplayable for some.

I just opened Minecraft on the Toshiba and it crashed within a 15 seconds, also I'm currently running my mac Minecraft at 75 fps with Skype up and it's working fine but the Toshiba is only running Minecraft and when I press f3 it's only running at 10-17 fps and only using 15-25% on the allocated memory yet it crashes. Is there anything I can do to fix this other than another graphics card?
You CAN'T update the GPU on the Toshiba. The GPU is soldered to the CPU, making it irreplaceable. Laptops like mine can. You will have to deal with it. It might have some viruses floating on it, so I would do a complete wipe and re-install Windows.

I completely rebuilt it like a week or two ago. I could possibly switch the ram in the two computers and give the 4gb to the mac and the 2gb to the Toshiba or I might have a different chip floating around my house. Would a 64bit operating system help at all? Having 64 bit java and all I feel like that would process java script maybe faster or more efficiently.
Not unless you plan on running more than 4GB's of RAM. The Toshiba never had a slot for a dedicated GPU, so you can't put one in.
Alright then I will probably just let it go, switch the ram and host with the toshiba and play on the mac. Thank you very much for your help on this I know it doesn't seem like a lot but it means a lot when you have know idea what you are doing lol. My dad is a computer science teacher at a university and my brother is also like a computer genius but both of them are more based towards software and I am trying to learn about hardware functions and such so ya they aren't that much help. Thanks again.
