Guys, stop posting and read the previous posts. Everyone has already noticed it is affecting everyone, not just migrated accounts. The mojang verification server is broken.
Dude, it isn't affecting everyone. Unless the verification server is lying about the people on one of my favorite 1.6.4 servers (but I still can't get on). Admittedly, all the others are affected and even some fairly popular 1.6.4 servers 0 players online, but somehow some servers have escaped this to some degree. Just because a lot of people are having problems doesn't mean that everyone is having problems.

It IS affecting everyone. the player count on that server is probably accurate. this problem happened fairly recently. and minecraft.net doesnt verify account ownerships in-game every 10 minutes like some other games. it doesnt verify at all after you join the server, so the people in that player count have been on the server since the problem started, and have not left yet. its as simple as that. if they were to leave, and rejoin. they would have the same problem.

Today and yesterday my server has been going very slowly (when you jump on a horse, it goes about 1 frame per second) and doors are held open by buttons for 10 seconds at least. 9/10 times I and everyone else on the server tries to log in, it says "bad login"... I have a hard time believing it is something wrong with Mojang's server, but if a lot of people are experiencing this NOW, maybe it is... HELP!

It's not just who migrated, i think Mojang corrupted a few accounts, by corrupted, i mean something like removed, i can do anything but go on servers 1.6.4 and below, and i need better sprinting to be any good at anything.
Same here. My account is Migrated and I thought I was the only one that this was happening to because when I checked a server it said there were people online so it wasn't a global issue. This accually make's me feel better to see that theres others like me.
The tech support website says that this is not an account issue since you are already logged into your minecraft account. It then says to check to make sure your network connections are enabled and to make sure your firewall isn't blocking access to the server you are trying to connect to.
Well, my server is on the same PC that I am playing Minecraft on and I am getting this error message. I was playing fine about an hour ago and all night last night. I started having really bad lag, so I logged out and when I tried to log back in "Failed to login: bad login".
Something different is happening for me. Whenever i log on with 1.7.2 I don't get this error. When I log on to 1.6.4 I get this error. I played on a 1.6.4 server 2 days ago so this must be pretty recent. Does anyone have any ideas why i can log on to 1.7.2 but not 1.6.4?

Yeah, this issue has been pretty prevalent within Minecraft as of recently. The issue resides in 1.6.4, and is caused by a pesky bug in the code.
I cannot provide ETA on when everything will be back to normal, but I did feel the need to post this because if you're anything like me, you got annoyed by this. Changing your password, restarting your computer, etc. will not solve the issue! We just have to wait it out. As stated before, this issue is in 1.6.4, meaning that you can still join 1.7.2 servers without a hitch. Thanks for reading!
