extra mouse button help

I recently got a new mouse for my computer and i was wondering if there was any way to use the 4th and 5th button on my mouse. I tryed to set it with controls but it doesn't work. I have checked the forums for any help but couldnt find anything that thuroughly explained the solution or if it was posible. If it is at all posible could you make a video that explains it? thank you

Extra mouse buttons won't support Minecraft. I'm sure you need to use the regular controls.

i know that. the point of the topic was to ask if there was a way to make it support them. like a mod of some sorts. BTW i'm using vista ultimate

My mouse side buttons used to work in Minecraft. Button 4 and 5. I use Windows 7 x64, so I know that there is some solution, I just don't know what it is.
