I got this message when i tried to open minecraft today, regardless of whether i updated it or not. I even reinstalled the lastest java.

Try updating your video card drivers from the graphics card manufacturer instead of windows update (www.amd.com)

If you don't know how to do that, or still have issues please also post a dxdiag report:

To obtain the DxDiag file:

Press the Windows Key (the key with the Windows logo on your keyboard) + R (at the same time).
Type in DxDiag and press Enter or click OK. This will open the DirectX diagnostic tool.
Click on the Save All Information Button
Save this file to your Windows desktop and name it dxdiag.

So what do i do after ive installed it, it doesnt open anything after its installed, and i cant find a way to open the suite to install the updates.

Browse to the folder it installed in:

C:\AMD\Catalyst_Mobility_64-Bit_Util

and run

CatalystMobility.exe

Beyond that I can't help you. It tells me right away that my desktop PC doesn't have the required card.
