So I just finished my Olympic Stadium in my SP world and I want to host a Minecraft Olympics. However, to do that I'll need to get it on a server, and I don't know how. The stadium took my quite some time to build and I don't want to have to rebuild it. Preferably without much complicated downloading and the like (i'm a bit of a computer noob). Any help GREATLY appriciated!!!! Olympics may happen in September if I can find a server. Thanks!
Oh um.. sorry if I posted it in the wrong section. I just couldn't think of anywhere else to put it.
If you are trying to run it on a server of your own I am pretty sure you can just drag and drop the world file into your server and rename the world name in your server.properties file accordingly. (Never tried it...and not sure where or how the nether and end world files are created separately in server worlds)
Cant hurt to try...just backup your saves!

A modded looking for dedicated (at least consistent) texture artists/modelers to make magic with! Not literally magic...but...mods! PM me...
If it's not going to be a permanent, 24/7 thing, then I'd suggest hosting it on your own computer or another one in your house (let me know if you need help with this, I'd be glad to help you)
If it is going to be a permanent, 24/7 thing, then you're going to need to either have a beefy computer whose job will be solely to run the server, or pay a hoster.
Anyway, assuming you have file access to the server, this is how you'd get the stadium on it:
If you want to paste it into a pre-existing server world:
For a Vanilla server:
You'd need to first export the build as a schematic file, using MCEdit. Download it, open up your world in it, select one of the corners of your build, and drag the selection box around the entire thing. Click export, and export it as (insertnamehere).schematic (it will add the .schematic a the end, but this is just what it will be called).
Then, download/get the server world, and open it up in MCEdit. Click import, select your build, and paste it wherever you want it. Click save, then exit, and replace the old server world with the new one.
If all went well, the stadium will be wherever you put it in the world
Job done
For a Bukkit/Spigot server:
You'd need to first export the build as a schematic file, using MCEdit. Download it, open up your world in it, select one of the corners of your build, and drag the selection box around the entire thing. Click export, and export it as (insertnamehere).schematic (it will add the .schematic a the end, but this is just what it will be called).
Then, download and install WorldEdit to your bukkit server (get the .jar file for your server version, and put it in the plugins folder, then restart the server)
Then...
Paste the .schematic file in your /plugins/worldedit/schematics/ folder on your Minecraft server.
Load it in the game with the command "//schem load mcedit filename", where "filename" is the file name without the .schematic extension.
Now go where you want to place the schematic and paste it with the command "//paste".
If the schematic is badly placed, you can cancel it with the command "//undo".
Then, if all went well, your stadium will appear wherever you pasted it, instantly (or eventually, depending on the size of it and the power of the server, this will cause some temporary lag)
If you want to replace the server world with the stadium one:
This works with bukkit and vanilla:
Go to your .minecraft folder (search %appdata%, go to roaming\.minecraft), go into the saves folder, and find the world with the stadium in it.
Copy it (ctrl+c when its selected, or right click-copy), go to your server folder, and paste it in. Delete the old world (if there was one, or move it somewhere else), and rename your new world to just "world".
Done! Now, when you start the server, it'll be on your stadium world!
Hope this helped you, and let me know if you need any more help!

Depends on a lot of things.
First off, you said you need to find a server.
If it's not going to be a permanent, 24/7 thing, then I'd suggest hosting it on your own computer or another one in your house (let me know if you need help with this, I'd be glad to help you)
