I've been playing Minecraft for several months now without any issue. I took a month break or so, and when I started trying to play again today, I started getting this Error 7 error once I am in game and the terrain is loading. Here is a screenshot of the actual error and a quick rundown of my system specs:
NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M
Adapter RAM 1,023.81 MB (1,073,545,216 bytes)
Driver Version 8.17.13.142
OS Name Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium
Version 6.1.7601 Service Pack 1 Build 7601
System Type x64-based PC
Processor Intel® Core™ i5 CPU M 480 @ 2.67GHz, 2667 Mhz, 2 Core(s), 4 Logical Processor(s)
Installed Physical Memory (RAM) 4.00 GB
I have run Minecraft since I've owned it on this laptop only. I've done the whole virus and other malware scans, nothing turned up. I'm currently playing WOW and Day Z without any issues - Just Minecraft. The only change that I've applied to my system since last playing MC is an update to the video drivers.
Anyone? I've scoured the net. Haven't found anything that has helped. Re-installed MC a few times. Messed around with the in-game video settings. Nothing has helped.
It's been over a month and I'm still getting the same error. I've tried running Minecraft in different compatibility modes, turned off Open GL, re-installed Windows 7, updated everything (Win 7, drivers, Java), tried Java 32 and 64 (even though I'm using Win 7 64-bit). This HAS to be an issue with Minecraft, as I am able to run other games, on max settings, with no issues. I recently started playing Guild Wars 2 on high settings without any sort of issue.
Has anyone heard of a solution to this issue? I have found other people on different forums complaining about the same error code, but no resolution.

It provides two possible solutions.
and since you said:
I'd add one more solution:
Roll back to video drivers that work.
