He's stuck in the launcher. I believe the problem is his launcher being unable to connect to minecraft.net. It's been happening to some people lately, as shown by this topic, so I'm not sure if there is even a fix for it.

I think that I found a bug or a glitch. I typed on a sign, I died and then there was not any words on the sign. I tried re-loading the world and it was still blank. I tried this many times with other signs. Every time, they were blank. please help!

I've been trying to buy minecraft for quite a while now. i live in Bahrain and use a visa internet card ( the kind of cards that's given to 13+ kids to use for the internet or storing , its called credinet ). i have well over 40 Dollars in it but minecraft keeps refusing it. it keeps telling me " minecraft was unable to deduct 26.95 USD from your card " then it takes me to a page where there is a message from credinet saying that my card is suspended, but i bought a membership for a game yesterday. I tried doing that for a couple of times to get it on video, but when i started recording i was sent to a page saying that theres a ban on my card for 24 hours and the minecraft team cannot lift it

Maybe the currency on your card does not equal to 26.95 USD? And if your card is banned for 24 hours, there's nothing we can do. It will stay that way until the ban is up, once a temp-ban is applied there is no turning back.

And when the ban is over? i still cant buy minecraft. i have 20 Bahraini dinars in my card, its wayy over 26 dollars, check with a currency converter. I dont know whats the problem, but i admit, i dont post the first name and last name i used to create my account, does that affect me? i cant really try cuz im " banned " XD

If a first and last name is attached to your account and your card you need to use that or it won't work.
i wanted to get the 64 bit java, and it told me i had to delete the older versions. i proceeded to do so and uninstall them. i redownloaded the 32 bit and 64 bit as recommended. i go to sign into minecraft and it sits at the mojang sign. i click around and it bring me to create a world or select a world page. i click the theo world...and it says "simulating the world for a bit" and switches to "saving chunks" over and over and over again...while the screen conteues to get darker and darker...
sometimes it will go to multiplayer and when i hit cancel it freezes and a box on the lower left hand corner pops up and it it has a minecraft world in it.

In the downloaded client, hit Force Update under the options button. Then proceed to log in.

I've tried playing in the browser but the Java bar doesn't load so I'm assuming it's something to do with Java, I've tried uninstalling Java 7 and installing Java 6 but to no avail. I've tried deleting the .Minecraft folder but again that did not work, I've tried uninstalling Minecraft and re-installing but that didn't work either. Any ideas? Any help would be appreciated! I've also tried the force update but that doesn't work either. It always crashes at 91% too.
I don't know, you've tried almost everything. Force update would usually be the answer to this but you've tried all of this, I'd have to say you have something blocking the retrieval of data, check your firewall.

Open the "Change or Uninstall a Program" window from the control panel and search for a program called "Relevent Knowledge". If you have it, uninstall, it is a malware that can cause this error. If you do not have it, then here's a quote I got from a quick search:
I am using avast as my antivirus and the default Windows Firewall. I disabled avast and the firewall but it still gave the same error message. I already attempted to use the winsock fix and it had no effect. Here is a link to the fix that I tried Winsock

Yes I've heard of the relevantknowledge program, and I've told my other questioners to uninstall it and it worked, I didn't realise this was the same problem.

Haha, stuff like that happens. I'd recommend you to make a database of known errors and their fixes in your first post, that way it'll be easy for common errors to be solved. Keep up the good work.

We bought Minecraft yesterday and downloaded the launcher. It opened ok but we couldn't connect to the server to download the game. Later in the evening, the launcher wouldnt launch and we got a message that said Could not create Java Virtual Machine, fatal error occurred. We have tried to uninstall Java and reinstall it etc. but nothing works. We are working on Windows Vista. Can you please help us download this game as my 8 yr old son is quite distraught that he cant play it. thanks

System time must be correct.
Your Windows account name must only have letters.
Your Windows account should have administrative privileges.
Java should be using a direct connection. (Check the Java Control Panel.)
You should have only two versions of Java installed: Java 6 Update 31 32-bit and Java 6 Update 31 64-bit.

It's caused by Java 7.

ive tried redownloading minecraft several times.
In the downloaded client, hit Force Update under the options button. Then proceed to log in.
On the downloaded .exe launcher, go to options and hit force update. X out of that box and proceed to log in. Enjoy
