Internal client error:java.net.connectexception: Connection refused: connect
^ What Minecraft says when I try to connect to ANY Minecraft server.
Internet is OK, has been happening for a while, I can play BF3 multiplayer fine, I am unable to force update, it always asks me if I want to update, when I click yes it says:
Fatal error occured (4): Connection refused:connect
Deleting .minecraft doesn't work either because it wont reinstall.
For some reason I can join on other computers though -.- (My crappy one :/ )

Have you allowed java and/or minecraft to operate through the windows firewall, I mean if you are running on windows, that is.. I don't know if Mac or Linux have equivalent programs in their OS. That might be your issue.

I'm not sure, but I've played Minecraft for ages and have never had a problem, it started last weekend when the authentication servers were down, and hasn't worked since.

and what did you do last weekend to try to fix the problem before you realized the auth servers were down?

Nothing, I went on an IRC channel and I asked what the problem was, they told me so I thought I'd wait it out.

Im having a similar problem, when ever I try to join a server, It will say "loading" for 30 seconds, then I get this message " Connection lost. Internal client error: java.net.ConnectException: Connection timed out: connect"

I was on a server before this, but i was going to relog, but then this kept happening. and I am getting really pissed

I am having this exact same problem! I can't even connect to my own server.

for everyone saying its just because the servers are down temporarily, thats not true. cause the servers have people on them. its something wrong with the clients i suppose. but i have reinstalled Java. and minecraft, but it doesnt help. solid internet. Ive tried everything i can think of. Someone please help.
