Didja delete the META-INF? that doesnt allow mods, I promise it wont do anything else.
I had minecraft on another computer and instead of it saying minecraft, its says minecraft.jar I'm not sure where the problem is. It also opens winrar when i click it. is that supposed to happen? Sorry new to installing mods so dont understand

that minecraft file IS the minecraft.jar that you are looking for, you can only open it with a program like winrar, no file browsing,in the mod file it should have a lot of .class files, take those and drag them into your minecraft.jar
also be sure to delete the meta-inf file in the .jar
Yea im having a hard time finding one, sombody put a link to a downlaod. if you need help applying one, use magic laucherr. sorry for bad grammar, its lagging bad
1) you haven't paid for the game, in which case you are in the wrong place

2) you can't follow the instructions that have already been posted in this thread, in which case you shouldn't be trying to mod.
i have followed advice from this thread, and i now have a minecraft.jar folder. thank you all. but no that i have the .jar folder, i still cant add files to it for mods, so my question is, WHY IN THE HELL NOT?! i have put hours into this today and i am T.O'd.
I assume you "got the minecraft.jar folder" with winrar. If I remember correctly winrar supports drag and drop. What happens when you try to the copy the mod files into minecraft.jar?
