same problem, logged in to my server, noticed I had the wrong texture pack, logged off to change it, when I went to join server again BAM, same problem as you
ive refreshed my jar to try and fix it. and i have no idea whats goin on im getting the same error as everyone but i see servers on my list that have people logging in and out as i refresh it.
actually was just getting ready to start a thread to see if anyone had any ideas to fix it but thank you for having this one up already saved me some trouble lol.
im thinking something is happening to the minecraft.net server... anyone who leaves a multiplayer game right now will not be able to rejoin until it fixes
It's not a client error per se, it's a problem with your client's data transfer to the home Minecraft server and back again. Best thing to do is wait it out, play around a bit in single player or something.

It means that the minecraft authentication servers are down once again, it happened about christmas last year as well. The only solution is to wait, or find a server with online mode disabled. AKA. a cracked server.

Now Im getting a Failed to login: error message...
