i have a mac computer and when i try pressing F4 it gos to the dashboard i want to take a picture of my giant pikachu but i cant cos the dashboard please help
I have used a mac several times and I know theres a screen capture thing built in. You have to press something like command, shift and number 4. Then you will get a crosshair cursor, drag to where you need the image and then click the mouse.
To check your seed on apple desktop (iMac, MacPro) is F3, screenshot is F2(If it changes the screen brightness, try the below steps)
Apple Laptop (MacBook, MacBook Pro, MacBook Air) is FN+F3,
screen shot is FN+F2
i have an iMac and all the f number buttons do something accept for f5 and f6 heres a list:
F1: dim screen
F2: brighten screen
F3: shows all windows open
F4: dashboard
F7: rewind
F8: play/pause
F9: fast forward
F10: mute
F11: low volume
F12: high volume
Open your System Preferences >Keyboard and Mouse > Key Combinations (or something similar) and disable those function keys. And enable Command+Shift+3 to make screenshot.
yeah but iv tried that but it dont work... I think :dry.gif:
The screenshot should be a png on the Desktop. Also, you should hear a camera shutter sound file.
If it doesn't work, check in System Prefs if there maybe are any duplicates or what key combo is assigned to taking screenshots. I notice your function keys are all different too, Volume controls for me aren't under any F-keys, they have their own keys, and screen brightness for me is F14 and F15, so other keys may be different too.
strange my old keyboard was the same but it had like an extra little bit on the right and it had 1234567890 = + and all this maths stuff and the volume
Actually, if you want to take a screenshot on Mac, you should use these key combinations: “Command+Shift+3” to screenshot the entire screen, “Command+Shift+4” to capture a particular part on the screen. You can also use its Grab which is located under Utilities or some free third-party tools to take screenshots.

Because you have a mac, you need to press SHIFT then F2.
