By lag do you mean your frame rates are dropping or you're playing online and having server lag. If it's server lag there is not much you can do but if it is frame rates dropping (which is on singleplayer but can happen on multyplayer) the nlower your render distance, turn of smooth lighting and turn of particle effects in the option under video settings also just like to point out attack of the b tem is a big mod pack like ftb and does require a beast to process, not being a hardware know all I can just say you might want maybe 16 gigs of ram. I remember 8 gigs of ram on ftb did work out fine your processor looks good and by 64 bit I can't tell what OS your running on. Hope that helps reply to me if you need anymore help. (btw if your running on anything older than windows vista I wouldn't quite recommend using big modpacks)
Also something else if you are on windows 7 perhaps pasting your dxdiag here would be good for people who know more about hardware than me. to do so click start then type 'dxdiag' (no speech marks) and hit enter then hit save all information and save it your desktop, then open the file and copy and paste it here
