Istead of having icons and half-icons to show how much health/armor we have, what about using numbers? Like in most FPS games, it would look like this in the hud:
= Current Heart Icon we have now
= Current armor icon we have now

With this we could have more precise damage values like for the creeper explosion, fall damage and the armor protection. As you get damage, you health/armor icon would also drain from up to down like the health icon in Team Fortress 2. About the O²meter using 10 bubbles, I think it is fine, it justs serves to show how much time we can spent underwater anyways, but I think we shouldn't get all our O² instantly when we get to air, it should start increasing (at 2x the rate it drops) 'till it is filled up again.
