As a builder i always liked the amount of possibilities that Minecraft offers you in what matters of blocks and positioning (upside down stairs for example). Now we have several colors of wood, glass and even clay! and also can place some blocks in different ways to increase the "richness" of your buildings.I've been thinking a while ago, practically since normal glass panes came into the game. On one of the lasts updates they even added more glass colors and we have more variety of wood so i thought why not wooden panes?
WOODEN PANES
I know you guys have heard of many threads about asking panes but i've seen players asking for vertical slabs, in other words, slabs that can be placed in multiple directions (like pistons for example). Well, i've been thinking about it as a builder and i thought slabs are half a block thick and as panes they would be bulky, that's why i suggest this:
When you place a glass pane it stays in the middle of the block being very thing without the "connections" to other panes or other blocks. Wooden panes would have the thickness of a glass pane but instead of being positioned in the middle of the block it would stay on its border (kinda like doors). As for the crafting recipe i suggest to place 6 slabs in a similar way you craft a trapdoor obtaining 12 panes of the wooden color of the slabs

HALF FENCES
I've been spending some time at the suggestion forum lately and saw many good ideas, others not so good and some not good at all. Despite the "quality" of the thread or the suggestion (the idea) i find from time to time ideas than trigger my brain cells and generate new ideas, like the slanted fences thread. This guy make me think what if we could have half fences? The half fences would be visually 1/2 a block high but its hit box would be 1 block, so they would "hold" you if you don't jump. As many players are asking for slabs to be placed on vertical direction, i would like to suggest also that fences half fences could be placed horizontally if when you place it you aim a block behind (similar to wood). To craft half fences the player must place 3 fences horizontally to get 6 of them:
Half fences will allow players to place leads on them so they could simply stack 3 half fences obtaining a height on a 1 block and a half and attach the lead to the half fence or just placing a block and a half fence on top to attach the lead.
Here's a pic of the concept of a half fences placed over cobblestone half slabs.
Another concept picture shows a 1 high cobblestone block floor with 3x3 half fence on the bottom of the cobblestone blocks. Photoshoping that wasn't easy. =D

Support, good job!
Why you are not sure about the panes? I would love some feedback to see if we can make the idea more creative or just improve it
Thanks man! it took me some time to photoshop the images =D this comment made it worth it
I like how it makes 6 half fences out of 3 regular fences, as 3 is half of 6.
Support, good job!
Thanks ! its the same calculation than with the half slabs, still not really sure about the crafting recipe
