As you may know, beacons have the ability to give you 'haste,' which speeds up how fast you break blocks. Whilst haste potions referenced, they aren't actually in the game yet. This suggestion may change that:
The player could make an awkward potion and add cocoa beans to it, creating a haste potion. You may think "this isn't really useful," it is in mining tough things like obsidian and quick block-breaking.
It would generally be worth it, since cocoa beans are quit common in jungles, and the haste effect is minor. They balance each other out.
Whilst this is a cool idea, it needs a little more info. Why is this good? How could this be useful? Is it worth it? How much haste?
Other than that, this is a self explanatory and decent idea.
It's good because it allows you to mine blocks quicker (explained in the main post already). It would be worth it, since the abundance of cocoa beans in jungles and the small effect of haste balance each other out. As to how much haste, I'm not sure, whatever Mojang feels is balanced.

I don't really see the use of this since haste is a positive effect and a fermented spider eye is a dark and 'mucky' item.
