1 thing that minecraft could really use is a volcano! It would generate in the mountain biome, and have a lot of nifty features to it. It would be very huge, like mountain sized, and have these featurettes:
1: It would be mostly be made out of solids, a new block that could be added to the game and make the volcano look realistic after it had been erupting.
2: There could be a section with a magma cube spawner, and the room containing the spawner could have 1-2 chests.
3: Some of the walls may have lava drops, they are shaped like vines but are red, and can only be obtained using a bucket.
4:The bottom layer of the volcano would consist of infinite blocks of lava, that is 3 blocks deep. This miight make lava a renewable material.
I hope this is a good idea, and i'm wondering if it will be added. In the meantime, here is some more info on solids:
They have the same blast resistance as obsidian, and must be mined with a diamond pick. If they are, they may take about 7 seconds to mine. They yeild 1 block of cobblestone and 1 lava drop. They can be crafted with stone and lava drops, 1 of each, to get raw solids. These can be placed on the ground and will freeze into regular solids after half a minecraft day. When they freeze, they may emit smoke, and be careful- for if you mine a frozen one, you'll have to repeat the process of getting it back. It is very useful for building material and kind of renewable. Here's an image of it: These ought to put a picture in your mind. So anyway, that's my idea for volcanoes and solids. Maybe eventually this could get implemented. And maybe I will post images to give you an idea of how it may look.
