How many times are you going to change the terrain generation code before you get a base code you'll stick with? It is getting kind of irritating having to start over a map or a server just to receive the new content, such as jungles.
Basic Design
Mojang needs to form a basic terrain formation code, something static, that doesn't change between updates. It needs to form mountains, hilly areas, plains, rivers, oceans and islands.
After that, they won't need to change the basic code. All the biomes on Earth would be applicable to that one single code, all they'd have to do is adjust the details.
It would allow infinite compatibility between game versions, and it'd be a hell of a lot better than puzzle piecing biomes together with no rhyme or reason.
In Conclusion
Honestly, I love this game, but it's killing us having to wipe all the progress we make and start over every couple weeks. Please, I implore you, for the love of all that is Holy on this Green Earth, form a static base terrain generation code and stick to it!!!
Right, well, do you need the Jungles in your world? As in, absolutely, downright, positively need them?
No one's forcing you to update your server to see the new biome. If you really hate it, don't do it. The universe wont implode just because one whiny kid complains that he can't find a jungle on your server.
Edit: And as said above, MCEdit to transplant your work from one world to the next.

When you invest a lot of time and effort into a given world, you want to be able to continue with it without having to start over. And when you run a server, you risk losing your members if you do not update. And no one should have to start their worlds over, anyway.
The shape of the landscape doesn't really have to change in order to implement different biomes. Instead of thinking in terms of biomes puzzle pieced together, they should think in terms of one code to generate a mass of land which would include mountains, hilly areas, plains, rivers, oceans and islands.
All the biomes on Earth would fit onto something with those, and there would be no reason to have to completely redo the basic terrain formation every single time they release an update.
The terrain generator is still in the process of improvement and you need to deal with it. Because of the new biome system since b1.8, biome and terrain shape are tied together. You want it to stop changing? No new biomes. I'd rather have chunk boundaries than essentially no new content.

That excuse no longer flies. The game is no longer in Beta.

Biomes on Earth are not puzzle pieced together templates. They occur naturally based on the formation of the land and other environmental circumstance. This is how the Minecraft terrain generation code should be based.

I never referred to "update" as in "update versions"
My point was that you don't have to start a new world every time a new biome comes out. That would be incredibly stupid. Well, no it wouldn't, since you do tha...wait a minute...
It might be easier if they made some kind of world smoother for maps when you update, it will find the edges of your explored area and extend the map some with the new code, smoothing them together to fit with out the giant out of place chunks.
So I was working on this really cool resource pack a while ago, but bad progress nonwithstanding, I think I found something much better... I'm probably gonna never release another custom Minecraft map.Until we meet again...

[quote=Badgerz]You have to keep in mind that people are stupid.
[quote=Catelite]Just because you don't understand how something works, doesn't make it broken or pointless. >_<

Actually, I'm not even sure I know what your idea is.
