The following is an idea for a new gametype that I would like to see in production. For those who like it and approve of it's feasibility, you may contact me as I now have substantial server resources to accomodate testing. Please note that this is not being offered as a replacement for minecraft itself nor any other common gametype. Just something to include in an isolated world or smaller server to explore.
MerkCraft - Merk the V.I.P.!
-Small custom maps with pockets of essential resources.
-Guns plugin (like Guns+) with custom recipes.
-2 designated zones for building a safehose (50x50? 100x100?)
-Rules state that players are divided into 2 teams, with one player per team
as the V.I.P.
-V.I.P. is limited to the boundaries of the safe house (using a plugin like WorldBorder etc.)
-LIMITED kits are distributed upon spawn
-Object is to infiltrate the enemy safe house and assassinate the V.I.P.
-Players must allocate human resources wisely, dividing them between the following
tasks; Fortifying the safe house(using stronger blocks i.e. metal and other ore)
(plugin perhaps required to modify breaking speed?) building higher into the air
or deeper(within limits) to make room for a more elaborate safe house with
killboxes, choke points, and hiding places for the V.I.P. Building traps
(laval pools, pitfalls, dispensers etc.) will also be encouraged. Venturing beyond
the safe house will be required to locate resources for weapons in addition to
assaulting the opposing team's safe house.
-Blocks ideal for fortifying structures should be found beneath the safe house, while
blocks for weapon recipes should be found in the open or the mid field to promote
skirmishes(effectively preventing teams from "turtling up"), and battling over
territory containing resources.
