I spent an hour leveling this guy up, and now I can't trade with him anymore. Fix this.
I've never posted any suggestion or disliked any aspect of the game before this idiocy was introduced. I already have to walk for 3 hours to get to the woodland mansion once I get the map! This process did not need to be harder. I've been loyally playing this game since it was in beta. Seriously, this is stupid and should be corrected asap. You ahould not be able to lock out a villager before the next tier of trades is available.
If you're in 1.14 they should unlock their trades after accessing their workstations.
They need one profession appropriate workstation each and they claim one for their own personal use which they need to be able to access. it needs to be on or in the floor and possibly can't have any block on it's top.
So don't lock them up in a cubicle unless you know that the workstation in it is the one they have claimed.
Also they probably need at least 2 blocks to move around in.
The system may still be buggy but that is how it's supposed to work so if that isn't how your villager area is set up that's what you need to work to change.
The latest snapshot for 14.3 mentions fixing a bug to this effect; try updating!

I did some CraftTweaker scripts for Mystical Agriculture. They fill in a couple of small gaps in MA, and also let you make or duplicate not only vanilla plants, but the blocks, plants and wood from Quark and Biomes O'Plenty. Also spawn eggs for most vanilla mobs! The scripts are here on Github.
Oh that might make sense. Their workstations are all up the hill where there is no easy path. I'll move it down the hill, but I just used a webapp to find the woodland mansion. Trading is officially useless now.

Actually, I spawned near a village in my world, and I've been having a hoot with trading. As long as they can get to their workstations (yes, bring them down from the hill!) you can basically dump as much as you want on them.

Just testing.
