I always thought that the only thing Minecraft lacked was a little bit more sophisticated physics to some blocks, at least . Sure, we have pistons, carts and boats, but wouldn't it be cool if we :
Added the possibility for some blocks to suffer the influence of non piston forces, be pushable, pullable by string or rope and slide on/ move on one another ? It could be cool if we could create clockwork-like mechanisms without necessarily using the influence of redstone. If not for pure gameplay, it could be nice if it served some educational purpose.
Added properties to some blocks that could make it possible for them to float on water or even float on air under certain conditions, like air balloons ?
About the mechanical properties and floatable properties , it could be a fixed thing for survival and hardcore mode and something you could preset on the command block on creative !!! It would surely open the creative possibilities to many creators on servers (making actual, moving ships and even maybe zeppellins/"spacecrafts").
