I do agree with this reddit post in the link I provided below.
This feature is long overdue and should become part of standard Minecraft, Ark Survival Evolved has many more ways to customize the difficulty so why not Minecraft? There needs to be more world options upon world creation so players can choose how they want their survival experience in game.
I'm not just talking about pillager raids like I did in my previous 2 threads. I'm talking in general, every aspect of the game, from mob behavior to hunger, tool durability, perhaps this thread ought to be moved to suggestions? idk, but I do wish to see what people have to say about it here.
In addition to the thirst suggestion as a world option somebody else mentioned I'd like to see climate affecting thirst and be biome specific.
Normal mode kinda sucks without starving to death as I mentioned before. Surely if you haven't eaten within a specific period of time your character should die? I always found it lame that you could get away with half a heart on normal by ignoring a major component of survival and still be alive enough to explore right up to the point when a mob kills you or if you hit a minor hazard such as a cactus. No, people shouldn't have to enable cheats to toggle starving to death on this difficulty, that's stupid and does more to hurt the experience than help. If cheating is your thing you may as well be playing creative mode in my opinion.
I'm still undecided on what difficulty I want for the game on the new world me and a friend are playing on.
Perhaps I need to give it more time, but normal difficulty sacrifices too much for my liking compared to hard mode where survival elements feel more appropriate for our experience of the game.
Full approval!
Except the thirst. That'd mess up Nether Survival and more.
