I was recently playing around with parrots, letting them dance, and when I went in and out of my base with a jukebox still running, I noticed that the sound is able to be heard from quite far away, and this made me think about having a background song continually playing within my base. But this currently is not possible, so I propose two suggestions that would make this possible, as well as also being quite good for map makers.
1: Very simply, being able to use dispensers to put music discs inside of a jukebox. Just put a dispenser next to a jukebox, put a music disc in, and power it.
2: If the jukebox is powered with Redstone, At the end of the song, it will automatically pop out the music disc from the top of the jukebox. This is so you could switch songs, or loop them if you have a hopper to catch the music disc. These are simple suggestions, but I think they would make the music discs we have and jukeboxes more applicable for ambiance and feeling.
If I'm not mistaken, map makers can use commands and music files "embedded" in the save files of their maps to play continuous background music. I think in older versions before command blocks were added, this could also be done. But I could be wrong.
However, command blocks take over 9,000 years to program.
I'd love to see something that allows us to do what you are suggesting, looping the music discs we currently have in the game, and power a jukebox with redstone. It truly makes no sense to me that a jukebox is able to play a music disc without being powered. And the crafting recipe doesn't even suggest how it is powered! I don't think a jukebox should require redstone to work, but I think the option should be there for the continuous music.
Compared to other, similar ideas, I like how this one works. It feels like it fits with all the other mechanics for moving items around, and I think if we were to ever have a system for switching disks, I'd want it to work this way.
I don't really see any harm in this. I would love to be able to customize the music in my base automatically. You could also make a music randomization machine or something of that sort.

How're you doing?
You looked like you were doing just fine but...
I wanted to ask anyway.
