As you all know, a legacy crafting table is a necessity. But What For New Blocks, Which would be more complex, like banner shapes? Will we have to craft the shapes again and again?
That is Why, Advance Crafting Table is HERE!
It would have rather More Slots(poll for that!)

Since all the Minecraft recipes are already based on a 3x3, why should we make it bigger? Also, I'm confused as half of this suggestion isn't worded very well. What is a legacy crafting table, for example? What does it do? Please explain and word your suggestion a little better.

Yes that poem is very easy to mess up.
Yeah, I support stuff. Although most of this is between 'would enjoy in game' to 'holy jeez meh needyz!'
Crafting tables are large enough, and everything so far has fit into a simple 3x3 grid. Besides, why would any reasonable thing require an upwards of 100 items!?

If you'd like to talk with me about other games, here are a few I play.
Team Fortress 2
Borderlands series (Borderlands 2 is my favorite game, ever. TPS combat is a lot of fun and makes up for the lower-quality story, in my opinion)
Elder Scrolls series
Warframe (IGN is something like That_One_Flesh_Atronach)
Pokémon series (HGSS forever)
Rocket League
Fallout series
Left 4 Dead 2 (Boomer files always corrupt though)
SUPERHOT (SUPERHOT is the most innovative shooter I've played in years!)
Dead Rising series (Dead Rising 2 is one of my favorite games, and the 3rd was a lot of fun. 1st has poor survivor AI and the 4th is bad)
Just Cause series
Come to think of it, I mainly play fighting-based games.
Unless I saw some concrete uses for this that fit the game, need a bigger grid, and couldn't have a similar crafting recipe in the normal grid I don't see much use for this. If it was solely decorating banners and was like a 5x5 grid for more customization options I could see it working but not for more crafting in general.

There are Forge mods that have this ability and I don't like them. 3x3 is pretty straight forward, and if an item needs to be complicated then each sub-part would be crafted individually and then assembled.
Craft Just Once, Assemble Everything, and that's a go! Like, You are About to build a good shield, you have to always complicatedly craft them again and again. I Was Just Suggesting, (haters gonna hate, but no problem, you criticize my idea, and I learn a lot from it!) and atleast 6x6 isnt a big deal, as 6x6=36, and 36 block grid would be great!

The issue isn't having a larger grid; the issue is that Mojang isn't very likely to add anything that takes anything more than a 3x3 grid to craft.

By my calculations, there are currently 267,319 possible crafting permutations . I do not think Minecraft uses all that many crafting combinations in comparison to this number, nor do I think Minecraft will ever reach using that many crafting permutations. It is kind of redundant to add a larger crafting grid when we already have tons of possible outcomes.
Care to check my math, but my point is that even if you do, you will get a large number.
I, for one, do not support this because there is no use for it when we already have a large crafting bench.

I don't really see what the number of potential permutations has to do with anything, unless you genuinely believe this crafting recipe should be added before we even consider a larger grid:

That is just one of many though. I actually failed to take into account how many items there were in the game in my calculation so the number that I had would be A LOT bigger than what I gave. The example you gave is one permutation out of probably millions. You are telling me that out of most likely millions of permutations not one of them will look 'regular' ?Out of the potential millions of permutations, you still have thousands of 'regular looking' crafting recipes.
My point was that the crafting table and the number of items already in the game is big enough to support more the amount than needed of crafting recipes so there isn't really a need to expand how many we can have by making a bigger grid.
Amazingly, in a 7x7 grid you could make any possible shape, so to make more builds quickly. And i say builds. Like arranging some wood would give an instant flooring solution. Support if you want.
You are telling me that out of most likely millions of permutations not one of them will look 'regular' ?
No sir, that's putting words into my mouth. The vast, vast minority of the total permutations will look 'regular'. Arguing otherwise is silly, and I can show you why:
If no items existed in the game, there would be 1 possible recipe (a blank crafting table).
If only 1 item existed in the game, there would be 512 possible recipes.
If only 2 items existed in the game, there would be 19 683 possible recipes.
If only 3 items existed in the game, there would be 262 144 possible recipes.
If only 4 items existed in the game, there would be 1 953 125 possible recipes.
The formula, in case you're curious, is (n+1)9 - where n is the number of items in the game. You add one to account for blank spaces, and then the power is 9 because there are 9 crafting slots.
The thing with powers, of course, is that every time you increase the number of items, the number of permutations increases exponentially. There only needs to be four different items in the game for the number of permutations to sail smoothly beyond your estimate (by a little over a factor of 7).
If we assume there are 2267 items in the game (that's the maximum ID according to this site), there are about 1.59x1030 permutations. That's accurate to 3 significant figures (which is unbelievably inaccurate considering how large the number is) and doesn't account for the fact that a lot of items share IDs (wool colours and so on). I really need a stupid statistic to make this hit hard: take the number of stars in the observable universe, and multiply it by 10 000 000.
So what, am I proving your point by making the number exponentially larger than what you predicted? Not really. Ask yourself how many of those crafting recipes would be reasonable. The correct answer it 'not very many', at least in the grand scheme of things. Still a massive number, I agree with you - there are too many possible recipes on a 3x3 crafting grid for us to ever run out. But I wasn't arguing that we'd run out, I was arguing that your permutation calculation was a silly argument.
Here's the point of this ramble: in reality, anyone who argues that we could run out of crafting recipes is insane. 100%. OP never even mentioned the idea that we're running out of recipes. Your maths was entirely irrelevant to the discussion - the entire point he was making was that this would allow people to make more specific recipes. He even gave the example of designing custom banner patterns. My maths there was kind of a tangent that I thought might be interesting (you did offer for someone to check it), but it did serve some purpose in showing that the number of possible recipes has no bearing on the number of reasonable recipes at all. It doesn't give you even the vaguest impression.

I've had an idea like this for a while, to add multiple tiers of crafting table. Maybe stone(5*5), iron,(7*7) gold(9*9), diamond(12*12)? I don't know, but I feel this could add more opportunities for crafting.
A bigger crafting table may be nice to be able to condense multiple redundant crafting recipes to just one, but we don't need 12x12, 9x9, or even 7x7. 5x5 should be enough.
And, as Gamelord said, it isn't even required, as the number of recipes possible in a 3x3 grid with the items we have is astronomical.

I won't even try to make an interesting banner, so here's a stupid meme:
Dude, how could a 12×12 crafting table be a good idea at all? Sorry to be 'that guy', but that is so horribly large and laborious. Who wants to memorize craft recipes this big? Even 5×5 can have that problem. On the topic of banner designs, a much better GUI could be implemented for such a thing.

Sounds like something that could be super tedious. This would just bring painful memorization to these blown up crafting grids... The 3x3 works perfectly because it allows more recipes and is simple enough all at the same time as to not make crafting more work than it needs to be. Adding anything higher to that just makes thing awkward and burdens the player with more recipes to think about.
Having "tiers" of crafting tables is way way way way way worse. Why would you want that?
