It will look like a machine made of wood and iron and it will be almost 1 block tall and wide. It will have wheels and some pickaxe-type arms in front and redstone torches on its body.
Health:
It will have 12 HP and pickaxes will deal double damage against them.
Behaviour: Terrabots spawn deep underground in small caves. It can detect players within 8 blocks and will move towards them, breaking only stone, andesite, diorite and granite blocks which are in their way and will avoid other blocks. They make loud clicks and robotic like sounds. It deals 2 hearts of damage per hit. It will die instantly with lava. It drops 0-3 iron ingots, 0-1 levers, 2-4 redstone and 0-1 redstone torch.
What's interesting about this suggestion is that it has a steampunk vibe to it, being made of wood and metal and wielding a pickaxe. Perhaps this mob could also have a steampunk themed generated structure to go along with it, some kind of mini-workshop or factory would fit it quite well.
I like the idea of a robot-themed mob, so I suggest you detail this suggestion a bit more, as it has a lot of potential.
So the Terrabot's sole function is to simply come after players and drop underwhelming items like Iron, which is easy to find anyway, and redstone; one of the most plentiful resources, and levers; one of the cheapest items to craft. It doesn't add anything unique to the game, besides being a bot that can break through certain blocks.
I'd like this suggestion more if the Terrabot had more of a unique function of some type, not just a bot for the sake of being a bot.
I'm getting a Dwarven automaton from the Elder Scrolls vibe with this. I like it. But, like Ender Girl said, something like this might fit better in its own structure, maybe an abandoned underground city or factory.

Uh, it makes AFK cobblestone generators possible. The drops could be changed, perhaps some wood logs? SUUUUUUUUUPORT
(gonna do a signature for it ^^)
What would be really cool is if you could find a way to build your own and then have it help you with mining.
Like if the Terrabot drops little pieces of itself when it dies, then you craft them together with a pick of any material, and it opens a menu to where it can mine.

Yeah, because cobblestone is so very hard to come by, and there is no lava or water in the world to serve the same purpose. But I suppose if you spend a lot of time around floating dirt islands or don't wanna travel a long way to excavate away from your build (which is generally more efficient than AFK cobblestone generators btw), then sure, good for you.
And of course "wood log drops", did you say? Well now there is another rare commodity that a tree farm certainly wouldn't fix faster and with more abundance than what a Terrabot would drop for you.
After-Quote: I'm saying that making player-less cobblestone farms would be made.
I suppose when you kill a Terrabot it could "drop a Terrabot block" which can, with aid of redstone pulse, break the block in front of it (But only the said variations of stone blocks). I guess that could make it more efficient.

I'm saying that making player-less cobblestone farms would be made. Those wood logs would be from any species, and could be used to have a renewable way of getting wood underground.
I like Pandolen's suggestion for the block. Maybe it's a wither-skull-rarity drop, though. Honestly, a drop doesn't have to be too rare or useful. Zombies drop rotten flesh, after all.
Hi,
Just wanna suggest this new mob, Terrabot.
Appearance:
It will look like a machine made of wood and iron and it will be almost 1 block tall and wide. It will have wheels and some pickaxe-type arms in front and redstone torches on its body.
Health:
It will have 12 HP and pickaxes will deal double damage against them.
Behaviour: Terrabots spawn deep underground in small caves. Thanks for reading.
Who built the Terrabot?
It will spawn naturally.

Who built the strongholds?
I support this, this, and this. And this now. Also this.

It might make for an interesting structure mob for sure. The drops should definitely be improved.
