So why should I have a diamond hoe? I don't know, durability? Well there aren't many other reasons. BUT there should.
4. Hoes
1. The wooden hoe and Stone hoe
Your normal farming as we know today. No difference
2. Iron hoes
Farm land stays fertilized longer and farther away (12 blocks away from water)
3. Golden Hoes
(WHY would anyone want a golden hoe? Well this should be why:) Crops grow 10% faster and bonemeal works better.
4. DIAMOND HOE
Longer fertilized and farther away (12 blocks). 10% faster and bonemeal works better. Better drops.
5. Hoe Enchantments
1. Watered: Soil can stay dry long times, can fertilize from water sorce from 5 more blocks away each level. (Up to level 3)
2. Efficiency: Crops grow 5% faster each level. (Up to level 6)
3. Fertilizer: Crops drop 1 more of it's crop.
4. Unruining: Soil can't turn to dirt unless broken. (without silk touch or you get farmland)

Mending
Unbreaking
