IF JUKEBOXES COULD PLAY EXTERNAL MUSIC Sugested by mineprix77
- How could this happen?
You could download the music in .mp3 format and Mojang could make a program that converts .mp3 in .ogg and put in a custom disc on a specialy folder for the musics.
-Utility
The only utility is listen musics directly from Minecraft without browse for a video and let it play.
-Risks
The risk is the author of the music claim the copyright of it. People bypass country blocking.
-Does that risk could be ignored?
I think the right awnser is Yes, because they already make Web Displays Mod, and no one claimed the rights.
Besides the fact that this can already be done with a resource pack, why even bother? I have never heard a good reason why you can't or wouldn't want to just play the songs off the internet, or download them and use a music player. In fact, with the ability to skip and pause stuff in other programs this would be an inferior system that is harder to set up and use.

I mentioned this elsewhere, but why not do what The Sims 3 does? Make a specific file for adding custom music? One folder and the coding to access it, and...at the most, maybe one new block to limit its access in-game (Two sound-blocks, a jukebox, and a radio transmitter (the block to access the "custom" folder) stacked in a specific way. The "custom" folder should be in the world game, so if someone wants specific music for specific areas in a shared world, they can utilize it this way.
