That's a pretty long title but that's probably the suggestion itself.
Ever want to put Jack-o-Lanterns on your ceiling (or something) but then figured out you need a block below it to actually place it? I know, it's annoying as ever.
This is a pretty simple thing and would surely improve the game. It doesn't break anything. It doesn't affect anything. Just allow Pumpkins and Jack-o-Lanterns to be placed like a normal block without having to have a block below it first. Pumpkins are basically the same as other blocks. They're solid and convey Redstone signals like normal blocks.
It doesn't make sense why you can't place Pumpkins if there is no block below it if it doesn't even need the block to stay there. You place a Pumpkin on a block, destroy that same block and the Pumpkin stays. Why do we even need that block in the first place?
I'm not sure if anyone suggested this yet (I think others have suggested this already but I haven't seen one already) but if it has already been suggested and this thread is deemed redundant, then I would like a link to that thread before locking this because of redundancy.
Actually, the Iron/Snow Golem thing can already be done in the Snapshots with a Dispenser. Also, you don't need to include that Hot-Air Balloon thing in every post. Just put it in your signature.
