Hi, I watched your video all the way through because it helped me to think about what I want to do on YouTube. I have only been uploading videos very recently and only have 6 subscribers, The facts that you have hi-lighted make me wonder if it's worth me continuing at all. I have been quite disheartened by the lack of interest in my work and the more I look at what the "popular" channels produce the more I realise that my content would only be appreciated by a minority. I appreciate that there are some great contributors, but it seems to me that some of them are providing quantity rather than quality. Maybe it's just sour grapes on my part. I would like to think that people would watch my videos all the way through and say "I understand that" and maybe they might want to see more. If I could be sure that my efforts would be viewed I would learn more about editing and maybe even invest in a microphone
Anyway, I wish you all the best, you seem to be very level headed and clearly deserve to do well.

Hi there!
Don't be too disheartened. Breaking into YouTube is HARD WORK. Like, really hard. Everyone that I talk to, and every resource that I consume, emphasizes how hard it is. Only 1 in 10,000 YouTubers gets past 1,000 subscribers, and the ones who do either work incredibly hard or get stupidly lucky.
If you're going to make videos, try to change up your focus a little bit. Don't necessarily do it for the views or attention, do it for the experience. Use this opportunity to learn about video editing, audio balancing, and how to speak with confidence to an empty room. Make videos that explore the ideas you are interested in, don't try to be like anyone else. Maybe one day you'll get lucky and get a bunch of subscribers - or maybe you'll just learn a lot about how to work hard on something you enjoy. Building good habits is just as valuable as getting recognition, IMO, because those good habits will help you succeed later.
Best of luck to you! Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts. You should post a link to your channel so I can check it out.
Thank you so much for your reply and the encouragement. I used to hate YouTube because I didn't understand what all the fuss was about. Then I made a copy of the MI6 Building in Minecraft and really thought someone else should see it (apart from my family) as it took me ages to make. So I got a relative to help me set it up on YouTube. Then I think I got the bug and started making a few more videos that seemed OK at the time, but now I wonder. Anyway, it's great that you took the time to reply to me. Thanks again, and I posted a link to my Channel as you expressed an interest, though I wouldn't expect you to view all the videos
