Ever seen the Far Lands? They were the edge of the not-so-infinite Minecraft map from very early Minecraft Infdev to Beta 1.7.3. They were removed in Minecraft Beta 1.8, with the world size increasing to 30 million, and just having an odd world boundary. Anyways, 1.7.3 Beta and before had some wonky world generation starting at around X/Z - 12,550,821. For more information, look them up in the Minecraft Wiki. Super interesting stuff, and definitely worth a read.
Here's a video of the Far Lands that I have recorded. They are so neat, and I urge you to download an older version of Minecraft and find your way over there. Definitely worth a check. I teleported myself over there on just a local Minecraft game with CraftBukkit #1000 on it. Super easy setup. Enjoy my little video! It's sped up 4X, so it's not a long boring video.
