With the new 14w06b snapshot, you can specify the relative coordinates of vertices, the UV map, and even create completely new polygons which is what I have done.
I need to point out the the .json file I made and released with the video will not work any more since the format changed. However, it should be easy to recreate it anyway especially with the new features.
