Wow, that's an astonishingly complete analysis! Any chance you can post the village visualization mod? Seems like it'd be easy to mess up by getting the distances slightly off.
Also, I was thinking that in survival, one might create the villages more in plane before moving them into position in newest-to-oldest order. This is less optimal but would involve less digging/pillaring. I can see how having that visualizer could really help.
Are the village centers and radii calculated 3-dimensionally? That seems pretty strongly implied by the up- and down- village origins.
Do villagers in minecarts retain the ability to perceive doors and keep a village in existence?
It would be more steps, but could you make it harder to screw up by moving the villages in more, shorter steps, as long as you keep any older villages a safe distance away while building a younger one?
Nice explanation. I usually avoid YouTube posts but that was great!
Unfortunately, in this case, the schematic won't help much because you have to build temporary and final structures in a very specific order to accomplish what he's doing. Watch the video more carefully and you'll see how just pasting it in won't create the desired effect.
Great tutorial, I went ahead and built this on a survival server I play on. I think I might have messed it up, as it does not spawn nearly enough golems to get 250 iron per hour. I did a short test, and seems to be about 60ish per hour. I assume all my villages merged together or something.
A few questions:
My villagers breed-ed like crazy once I put the doors in, is this normal, or is it a sign that I have one mega village instead of 6 distinct ones?
the distance between villages is supposed to be 64 blocks, does this mean I put the door on the 64th block, leaving 63 in between the two?
For the village on the bottom, the ocean got in my way, so I filled in an area, and then dug out 5 spaces for direct access to the sky, I don't think this should be a problem, but I am not sure...
If I try to start over, I should be able to just remove all the doors, then replace them as in the tutorial, leaving all other infrastructure, correct?
I would also like to see a copy of this mod, It would help me understand what i did wrong.
Thanks

It stacks 6 villages directly on top of each other in a tower only 33 blocks high and yields 250+ iron bars per hour.
Please take a look and let me know what you think.
Thanks!
