I saw everyone start uploading videos of making indicator lights for their furnaces. I liked the way it showed in the base, but I wanted to do something different. I took the status changes from crops and turned it into an indicator light.
The indicators are stackable and you can have many side by side. You may not want to do this with wheat particularily, but it looks great. You could also move the redstone lamps over to another area like a storage room/crafting area and lets you know if your farms are ready to harvest. The possiblities are quite limitless..
If you subscribe to the channel I also do a let's play series, I plan on incorporating this into my builds into the future. Perhaps in a different way that displayed in this video, however.
