Manu Windows 7 recorders aren't working on Windows 8, 8.1 and also on Windows 10 technical preview. I was also curious about some working screen recorder app or software, found this one "bandicam video recorder" you'll find it in the app store not on the web and also here are http://techzend.com/screen-capturing-tools-windows-81/ some classic screen recorders that are working on Windows 8.1.
