I would like to start recording Minecraft Videos. I have what I need, except for the software to record. I looked up some things like Fraps or Camtasia studios, and just for starting out a YouTube Channel, I do NOT want to invest 300 or so dollars to figure out if I enjoy this type of entertainment.
I have windows 8 computer
I have 64 bit Java
I have a desperate need to record
I have a great imagination
I can install mods through modpacks
I know about music royalty free such as Kevin MacLeod
I want to make people have a good day, and enjoy entertainment.
I have had a premium minecraft account since 1.2.5, and just recently made a forums account. I am not a noob!
I need a recording software to start my dream!
I need tips and tricks (which I could look up, but here is nice)
I need to just get started.
If I can get a software working, I will make a new thread to advertise my channel and put it in my signature.
If I can't, I will not give up until I succeed!!! ONWARD, TO VIDEO MAKING!
Guys, I just can't let my sister get more views than me with doll videos! Who will help me achieve my goal?
I can tell you that investing $40 in Fraps is worth it. It has a very easy interface and simple to use. However you will need a program that you will need to become familiar with to edit your videos. Windows Movie Make is good - however there are things that you cannot do. I use a combination of Fraps and Camtasia Studio. This is a good investment if you are looking to do this either as a hobby or as a job. There is a 30 trial for Camtasia that you can download and try it out. You can also look into Adobe Premiere - which you can use on a monthly basis (I believe its like 29.99/month) this is also good if you don't want or have 300 to spend right now on Camtasia.

He is right on this one, If you don't want to pay for anything check out Obs, Its free and there are plenty of tutorials out there to help you along the way. A lot of people say what to use, but its all up to you as a YouTuber. My advice is to go with Obs until you know if you want to do Youtube videos or not.
