Hi guys, recently I started YouTube videos as a hobby and to make it more fun and more enjoyable for the viewer, I want to try to earn a little revenue from them to buy some new computer parts. Before I enable this I want to try to get exposure up and fix what I have. I'm using a little crappy mic that I found, and for some reason there is a beep in the background. This doesn't happen when I'm in Skype calls with friends. I'm recording with OBS and I want this fixed. I also want to work on my voice not being so high. Also I'd like some tips on how to not take long pauses when speaking because I'll go quiet sometimes when playing games. Here is a playlist of some Minecraft Minigame videos I've done.
It'll be tough, Minecraft videos are just super high in volume right now. And not noise wise, I mean there's millions of videos doing the exact same thing that you are, playing Minecraft with commentary. Sorry to say, the only people who are going to make money off of Minecraft are the first few who started uploading videos of it, or the big name channels that started playing it.

And who are you, the proud lord said, that I must bow so low?
Only a cat of a different coat, that's all the truth I know.
In a coat of gold or a coat of red, a lion still has claws,
And mine are long and sharp, my lord, as long and sharp as yours.
And so he spoke, and so he spoke, that lord of Castamere,
But now the rains weep o'er his hall, with no one there to hear.
Yes now the rains weep o'er his hall, and not a soul to hear.

Exposure isn't easy, and starts slow, unless you have something to get a lot of people to watch it, who would also like watching more of your content. From a viewer's stand point, what's different about your content will be a reason to continue watching. Then, you need to find a way to show those people that you are doing those kinds of videos.
Making money through YouTube ads isn't something you should expect, because it takes a LOT of views and people watching longer content to get it to pay decently. That said, there are other ways to make money with YouTube, if you jump through the hoops, do the paperwork and manage it. They still require plenty of views to make much money though. That's not to discourage you, just telling you the truth. That's why a lot of the big names either set out to have fun making videos, and thus people have fun watching them play, or set out to create a specific kind of video content and work hard to make it good.

Doesn't mean I can't try.

As for voice, age, experience and technique all contribute to it. Just a moment ago I wrote a more thorough answer to somebody else on this forum asking about how to improve their speaking voice, so here's the link to that discussion: http://www.minecraftforum.net/forums/show-your-creation/video-series-help/lets-plays-help/2597974-ways-to-improve-my-lets-play-voice
